DATA PROTECTION ACT 2018 WORKSHOP

The DATA PROTECTION ACT 2018 WORKSHOP   is intended to be interactive so that attendees have a deep understanding as to how the new Data Protection Act relates to the General Data Protection Regulation. In particular, the content focuses on the derogations used by the UK Act when implementing the new law. In further detail, the Data Protection Act Workshop considers the following topics:

  • Structure in the 2018 Act and the “Applied GDPR”
  • Definitions in the 2018 Act
  • The grounds in Schedule 1 for the processing of Special Personal Data and criminal personal data (including alleged offences)
  • A review of the exemptions in Schedule 2-4 for the processing of Special Personal Data and criminal personal data (including alleged offences)
  • A review of the Law Enforcement elements in Part 3 of the Act
  • Review of enforcement regime and monetary penalties
  • The changes to the interface between the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Freedom of Information regimes (FOIA, FOISA, EIR, EISR)
